USA to oppose selling Russian weapons to Iraq, Says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ashour Hamed Saleh of the Iraqiya Slate predicted that “The agreement with Russia over buying weapons would not be concluded.”

He reported in statement to IraqiNews.com on Monday that ”Iraq has headed towards Russia to conclude a contract related to buying heavy weapons,” pointing that ”Iraq should look for its interests whether in Russia or in America.”

The statement added that ”Iraq contracting with Russia will sourly arouse the tense of the USA and thus America will not allow such contract to be accomplished.”
