Talabani, US charge d’affaires discuss developing bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani, and the US charge d’affaires in Iraq discussed the means of developing bilateral relations between the two countries.

A Presidential statement received by IraqiNews.com cited “Talabani received the US charge d’affaires and expressed the Iraqi desire to upgrade mutual cooperation and to keep on the positive contacts with the United States of America in all levels under the Strategic Framework Agreement concluded between the two sides.”

“Talabani highlighted the political updates and the results of his meeting with the political blocs to prepare for reaching solutions for the disputes,” the statement added.

“For his part, the US charge d’affaires stressed the importance of Talabani’s role in urging the political sides to overcome the disputes and the pending issues, renewing the US support for Iraqis and the political process,” the statement concluded.
