MP calls to present final accounts for budgets before approving them

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Majida al-Timimi, revealed that the Parliament did not receive since 2003 any final accounts for the budgets but it received only reports about the final accounts which are not official.

She said in a statement to IraqiNews.com “The Finance Committee calls the ministries to provide the Committee with final accounts before approving the budgets because there are huge amounts of money spent without legal basis in addition to receiving money from foreign countries without being registered in reports.”

“The Council of Ministers formed a commission to follow up the violations in this regard and it is supposed to present its record as soon as possible to settle the topic of the final accounts reports,” Timimi concluded.
