Zebari, US official discuss Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, received at the Ministry’s HQ the American Assistant Secretary of State for Political – Military Affairs, Andrew Shapiro, and the delegation accompanying him.

A statement by the Ministry cited “During the meeting, Iraqi – American relations according to the Strategic Framework Agreement were discussed. The American official stressed his country’s keenness to support the Iraqi security forces’ defense and arming capacity in accordance to the American law and the contracts signed between the two countries.”

“The international, regional, and Syrian crisis developments were discussed, stressing the necessity of exchanging bilateral visits,” the statement concluded.
