MP calls to refer Kifil-Shinafiya irrigation project to Integrity Committee
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said ” The contract over performing this project that passes through Najaf, Diwaniya and Babel provinces, has corruption issues that resulted in damaging more than one Million and a half citizen and dozens of agricultural lands.”
“There is a clear negligence by the WR Ministry and the executive companies since 2007 till the current time where there is a delay in performing this project by making unqualified companies to perform it,” he added.
“A committee was formed according to law (138) that aims to compensate the land owners that are damaged by such projects in addition to allocating the budget of the WR Ministry of 2013 for this purposes where this project will be performed within the projects of the Infrastructure law draft,” he pointed out.
Esawi called “The WR Ministry to contract with an international company to perform this project in order to ensure the quickest period of performance.”
