Parliamentary Economic Committee criticizes armament contracts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee criticized the armament contracts concluded by the Government.

The reporter of the Committee, Mahma Khalil, stated to IraqiNews.com “The economic policy of the Iraq Government is not heading towards the free market rather it becomes socialists more socialism its self.”

“The tendency of the Government towards the armament contracts and allocating huge amounts of money from the budgets for them is against the law and the constitution,” he added.

“The Iraqis need more services and jobs so it was better to conclude economic huge contracts because the militarization of the community will not be fruitful for Iraq and the Region,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced that his visit to Russia comes to hold deals for buying weapons for the Iraqi Army and to consolidate the military cooperation between the two countries.
