Mansouri calls to form parliamentary neutral Committee to investigate corruption files in CBI

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hussien al-Mansouri, of the Ahrar bloc called “The parliament to form a parliamentary neutral committee to investigate the corruption files within the Central Bank of Iraq to identify the responsible sides.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “If the Governor of the Bank, Sinan al-Shibibi, proved to be responsible of the corruption files, we will be the first to call for dismissing him from his post.”

“We reject dismissing Shibibi if it aims at marginalizing him by the Council of Ministers because it affects the economic interests of the country,” he added.

“There are huge corruption files in the governmental and non-governmental institutions including like the corruption files against the Minister of Youth and Sport, Jasim Mohamed Jaafar, in implementing the Sport City of Basra but such files are neglected,” he assured.

“Dealing with the corruption files is based on the political affiliations where the officials who are not supported by the political sides are easily marginalized and dismissed,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers tasked the head of the Financial Supervision Department, Abdul Basit Turki, to run the Iraqi Central Bank as a substitute for the current Governor of the CBI, Sinan al-Shibibi.
