MP urges officials to address worsening situations at Basra

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abdul Salam al-Maliki of Basra province called the Ministers of Agriculture and Education to visit Basra to inspect, on the ground, the agricultural and educational situations there.

MP Maliki said “Basra was the first province in producing dates worldwide and the main supplier of tomatoes crops to the Iraqi provinces, but now it turned from being the producer of those crops into an importer and consumer of them.”

“Furthermore, the educational posture suffers great negligence by the officials most notably the shortage in the number of the schools buildings,” he added.

He called on “The Parliament and the Government to provide financial allocations to save the province from its worsening situation.”
