IS MP rules out playing national role by Kurds to settle crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Omer al-Jobouri, of the Iraqiya Slate ruled out playing a national role by the Kurds to settle the political crisis.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Saturday, he said “The Kurdish leaders cannot play a national role in settling the political crisis in Iraq because they think that their demands are holy where these demands harming the national unity and against the interest of the Iraqi people.”

“There is a demand by the Kurds which is to take out some of the national allocation of the oil and gas which is unconstitutional because the oil is for all Iraqis,” he added.

“The objection of the Kurds over arming the Iraqi Army to make it a strong one is a dangerous issue,” he pointed out, assuring that “It is a constitutional merit to make such a strong army.”

“Since the Kurds cannot change their demands, they will not play a national role in settling the political disputes,” he concluded.
