MP calls to reveal investigation results with MoO over receiving bribe from Australian company

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mansour al-Timimi of the State of Law Coalition, called the Ministry of Oil and the Parliamentary Integrity Committee to reveal the investigation results over the issue of receiving a bribe by the MoO from an Australian company in Malaysia for constructing oil exportation platforms.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The branch of the Australian Leighton Company has signed a contract with the MoO with cost of (756) USD Billion to construct oil exportation platforms of southern Iraq,” accusing “The MoO by receiving a bribe from that company to award that contract.”

“The main company informed the federal police that its branch in Malaysia gave a bribe to the MoO,” he added, noting that “The main company called to conduct an investigation over this issue where a parliamentary committee was formed for this purpose, but the results are not announced yet.”

He stressed the necessity of “Revealing the investigation results to the Iraqi people because they are the owners of the oil and they must be acquainted with the results,’ pointing out “The accused officials of this issue are key officials of South Oil Company and they are still in their key posts,”
