Zibari receives credentials of new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, received on Wednesday the new Japanese Ambassador in Baghdad, Masato Takaka and a copy of his credentials.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday cited “Zibari welcomed the appointment of the Ambassador in Baghdad and said the government and the ministry’s confirmed keenness to provide the required support and assistance to the work of the embassy in the country in order to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries and their peoples.”

“The Japanese Ambassador stressed on the participation of Japanese companies in the Baghdad International Fair,” the statement added.

“The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Bilateral Affairs, Chairman of the Department of Asia and the Director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs,” the statement concluded.
