Hashimi accuses Maliki of attempting to assassinate him in Turkey

Follow-Up (IraqiNews.com) The Judicially wanted former Iraqi Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi accused the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of attempting to assassinate him at his residence in Turkey.

In a press interview published on his website, Hashimi said “I have received many threats about assassination attempts and I have information that Maliki has sent specialized intelligence teams to Turkey in order to assassinate me and you can notice that from articles published on websites close from Maliki.”

“Targeting me aims to isolate me from the political process and target the Sunni community which elected me to be a vice-president but I have many options to serve my country,” he added.

He stressed “I am here in temporary Turkey since I belong to my people in Baghdad but I will return when my case will be settled politically because it is not criminal.”

He also criticized the “Bad policies of Maliki which resulted in catastrophes for Iraqis that might cause a public revolution in Iraq.”
