IS MP condemns attacking residence of Finance Minister’s father
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Khalid al-Alwani, the leader within the Iraqiya Slate condemned the attack on the residence of the father of the Finance Minister, Rafea al-Esawi.
In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday “We strongly condemn the criminal attack that resulted in killing one of the members of Esawi’s family and injuring some of his guards.”
“While condemning this attack, we, the Iraqi Islamic Party in Anbar and Fallujah, would like to express our gratitude to Esawi’s humanitarian role in treating the patients during the occupation of Iraq and his political role after the occupation,” he added.
A car bomb exploded targeting the house of the Finance Minister’s father in central Fallujah on Wednesday.
Security source stated to IraqiNews.com “One of the guards of, Hiyad al-Esawi, father of Finance Minister, Rafi al-Esawi, was killed and two others were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire attacking the house and then a car bomb driven by a suicide bomber exploded targeting the house in al-Risala neighborhood.”
The source did not indicate whether the Esawi’s father was inured or not.
“The casualties count is still initial,” the source added, noting that “The explosion resulted in material damages to the house and the nearby houses while the police forces blocked the attack area in anticipation of other attacks.”
It is worth mentioning that the Finance Minister, Rafi al-Esawi, is among the leaders of the Iraqiya Slate headed by Ayad Allawi.
