Parliamentary Human Rights Committee calls to reconsider Iraqi Judiciary

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The parliamentary Human Rights Committee called “To reconsider the Iraqi Judiciary,” accusing “Some political sides of politicizing the judicial system clearly for their interests.”

The head of the Committee, Salim al-Jobouri, stated to IraqiNews.com “The judicial authority needs to be reconsidered because some politicians want this authority to work for his side while it should be neutral and away from the political disputes.”

“The judicial authority is the base of the other authorities that is why it must be preserved from the political affiliations,” he added.

Some political sides accused the judicial authorities of being politicized concerning the case of the Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, who was sentenced to death.

Iraq witnesses political crisis lasted for several months due to the disputes among the political sides related to the partnership and other issues which led some blocs to call for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, after holding meetings in Najaf and Erbil provinces.
