US Embassy denies reports over US troops deployed in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US Embassy in Baghdad denied the reports over US troops still deployed in Iraq.

Speaking to a number of journalists, the US Ambassador, Robert Stephen Beecroft, assured that “Such reports are groundless and fake.”

“There are US trainers whose number will be reduced to have a presence in Iraq similar to our presence in our Embassy across the world,” he stressed.

“In addition to our military and security relations with Iraq, we have unique economic relations that will be exposed during Baghdad International Forum where some of the US prominent firms will represent us,” he added.

“The Iraqi-US relations are governed by the Strategic Framework Agreement concluded between the two countries,” he assured, noting that “We have formed five committees responsible of various files including security, energy, judicial authority and the diplomacy,” he concluded.
