Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary, stressed the necessity of increasing the efforts among Iraq, Iran and the Gulf Countries to treat the lack of rain and the Greenhouse effect.

A statement by Jaafary’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday cited “Jaafary received the Iranian Vice-President for the Environment issues, Muhamadi Zada, and the accompanying delegation in addition to the Iraqi Environment Minister, Sakroun Slaiwa, and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Dani.”

“The two sides discussed the mutual cooperation in the environment field and the means of facing the challenges of the natural phenomena,” the statement added.

“Jaafary stressed the necessity of making use of the Iranian experiment in fighting the Desertification, Dryness and Greenhouse effect phenomena,” the statement pointed out.

“For his part, Zada confirmed the readiness of Iraq to help Iraq in developing the environmental sector and fighting the phenomenon of the dusty winds and the other natural phenomena that Iraq faces,” the statement concluded.
