Minister of Trade instructs to destroy damaged food materials, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mansour al-Timimi of the State of Law Coalition stressed that the Minister of Trade Khairallah Babekir instructed to take the required measures to speed up destroying the food materials that are not suitable for human consumption in the stores of the Ministry.

Timimi confirmed that “The Minister of Trade has responded to our demand concerning taking the necessary procedures in wasting the damaged food materials in the Ministry’s warehouses.”

Babekir clarified that “The lawsuits that were filed over those damaged materials must be settled.”

It is worth to mention that Timimi has accused, on last Tuesday, the officials in charge of the Ration Card and the Minister of Trade of financial and administrative corruption, revealing existence of huge amounts of food materials in the Ministry’s stores that are unsuitable for the human consumption.
