Ahrar bloc rejects CoM’s decision over canceling Ration Card

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of al-Ahrar bloc within al-Sadr Trend, Dhiya al-Asadi, stated in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com “We reject the decision of the Council of Ministers over canceling the Ration Card without providing the replacement to the citizens.”

“We do realize that such decision will save the Government from wasting huge amount of money for purchasing the items of the ration Card,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to cancel the Ration Card.

The legal expert of the Prime Minister, Mohamed Fadhil, told IraqiNews.com on Tuesday that “The CoM decided to cancel the distribution of the food materials of the Ration Card starting from 1st, March, 2013.”

He added that “The resolution included distribution of IQD 15,000 for each member to replace the Ration Card.”
