Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Sami al-Askari, of the State of Law Coalition described the call of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to the Kurdish people to be ready to face any unpleased event as “Psychological and electoral war.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Talabani’s statements and threats are a part of a psychological and media war that is not existed because he is aware that Dijla Operations Command and any other Iraqi security forces do not intend to clash with Peshmerga elements, but their aim is to fight terrorism.”

“This media escalation by Barzani is for political purposes where we are going to witness the elections where Barzani aims to frighten the Kurdish by showing them that they are targeted,” he added.

“We want to make our State strong to protect all the communities of Iraq,” he pointed out, ruling out “Any clash between the Iraqi Army and the Peshmerga elements because both sides realize the danger of such crisis and its effect on Iraq’s relation with the international community.”

Earlier, The President of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani expressed the Region’s readiness to cope with any unpleasant event, referring to attempts that aim to demolish the friendship between the Shiites and the Kurds.

Barzani said that “The events that took place, on last Friday, in Tuz Khurmato district prompt all of us to pay attention to the destructive attempts that want to drag Iraq into tensions and conflicts.”

“We strongly denounce those events and stress on the sanctity of the Iraqi blood whatever its nation, religion or community,” he added.

There are attempts to undermine the ties between the Kurds and the Arabs in general and the Kurds and the Shiites in particular, therefore we call the Iraqi National Alliance to seriously pay attention for them,” Barzani continued.

It is worth mentioning that last Friday witnessed clashes between elements of Dijla Operations Command and bodyguards of a Kurdish figure in east of Tikrit city resulted in killing and injuring a number of Dijla OC’s elements.
