MP rules out conducting deal between Iraq, KSA over exchanging detainees

Baghdad (MP) Nada al-Jouburi, of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee rules out the execution of the Kingdom of the Saudi Arabia to the Iraqi detainees as being a reaction to the execution of the Iraqi authorities to the Saudi detainees.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), she said “We do not think that there is a reaction by the KSA over the execution of the Saudi detainees in Iraq, but the laws in both countries are applicable to all and no side can change them.”

“Earlier, the Iraqi authorities executed an Algerian detainee who was accused by terrorist actions as Iraq is not including the terrorists in the exchange deals,” she added.

She pointed out “The relation between Iraq and KSA is strong, so there might not be an exchange deal for the detainees.”

“There are some diplomatic initiatives by some Arab ambassadors over conducting exchange deals for the prisoners where a committee was formed to discuss this issue,” she concluded.

Earlier, the Iraqi government called to reveal the reasons behind executing seven Iraqi detainees in Rafha prison in KSA.
