MP rules out continuity of Shiite-Kurdish alliance

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Saad al-Mutalabi of the State of Law Coalition ruled out continuity of the Shiite-Kurdish alliance in the political process.

Mutalabi told IraqiNews.com that “The people who think that the alliance between the Shiites and the Kurds is ongoing are very mistaken because the alliances were changed and new alliances will be formed on basis of earlier agreed political agendas and are based on serving the Iraqi people and preserving the country’s unity.”

It is worth mentioning that the leading figure within the SLC, Sami al-Askari, has accused, in a statement on last Monday, the Kurdish leaders of exploiting the current disputes between the Sunnis and the Shiites for their political benefits, considering the talk about Shiite-Kurdish alliance as a lie where he stressed that the Kurds did not cut off their relations with Israel.
