Kurdistan political parties call to immediate cancellation to Dijla OC

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistani political parties demanded for an immediate cancellation of Dijla Operations Command.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Kurdistani political parties held an inclusive meeting on Thursday in Erbil headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, demanding an immediate halt of the formation of Dijla OC in the disputed areas.”

“The meeting that was attended by the Kurdistan ruling parties and opposition groups as well as Turkmen, Ashurian and Armenian parties aimed at discussing the latest developments and tensions in the disputed areas,” the statement added

The statement pointed out “The participating parties believed that the establishment of Dijla OC and the recent mobilizations of Iraqi Army in the disputed areas are a clear violation to the country’s constitution and a clear risky reference to repeating the chauvinist attempts against the Kurdish people as well as exporting the internal problems of Baghdad‘s government to Kurdistan.”

“They vowed to take all the constitutional and political steps necessary to cancel the formation of Dijla OC,” the statement mentioned.

“They also agreed to send a common message to the Iraqi National Alliance and other political blocs in Iraq‘s parliament, showing the objection of Kurdish people over Dijla OC and risks of appearing unilateralism and dictatorship in the new Iraq,” the statement concluded.
