Kuwait needs to pledge not filing other lawsuits against Iraq in future, says Nusaiyf
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Alyia Nusaiyf of the Iraqiya Hurra Coalition called the Iraqi Government and the Ministry of Transportation to deposit the financial compensations related to settle the case of the Iraqi Airlines only after submitting a formal waiver by Kuwait over the lawsuit it has filed against Iraq.
Nusaiyf pointed out that “Iraq needs to obtain guarantees stressing that Kuwait will really give up the lawsuits filed against Iraq on the Airlines before deposit the compensations’ moneys.”
She added “Kuwait must pledge not to raise other lawsuits in future whether in this file or other files as we used to see over the past years.”
It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi Council of Ministers has announced on 20th March, 2012, the approval on a project to allocate $ 300 million as compensations to settle the case that was filed by the Kuwaiti Airlines against the Iraqi Airlines.
