Araji: Investigation Committee assures existence of corruption in armament deal with Russia

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Baha al-Araji, announced that the investigation committee formed to investigate the corruption issues accompanied the armament deal with Russia, has confirmed the existence of the corruption in this issue.

A statement by al-Ahrar bloc received by IraqiNews.com cited “The investigation committee headed by Araji met MP, Ezzat al-Shabandar, of the State of Law Coalition in addition to meeting the Acting Defense Minister and some other officials over the corruption issue of the armament deal with Russia.”

The statement quoted Araji, as saying “While meeting Shabandar, the committee assured that there were indicators of the existence of the corruption,” noting that “The information of each meeting will be combined to form the basis of the work of the investigation committees over this issue.”

Earlier, the parliament formed an investigation committee headed by Araji to investigation the corruption issue of the armament deal with Russia.
