Zibari, Saudi Ambassador discuss exchanging detainees, prisoners

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari, discussed with the Saudi non-resident Ambassador to Iraq, Fahad Abdul Mohsen al-Zaid, the issue of Saudi prisoners in Iraq and the Iraqi prisoners held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the issue of implementation of the death sentences against seven Iraqi detainees recently.”

“Both sides agreed to discuss the details of reaching an agreement over exchanging the detainees of both countries according to international pacts,” a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited.

The statement mentioned that “Zibari and al-Zaid also discussed means of enhancing the bilateral relations between Iraq and the KSA.”
