Talabani, Kurdish leaders discuss consolidating relations between Kurdish blocs

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani, met three leaders of Kurdish political parties on last Sunday to discuss eliminating the current crisis and to consolidate the relations between their blocs and the Kurdistani Alliance to defend the constitution, according to a Presidential statement.

“The leaders are the head of the Kurdistani Islamic Group, Ali Babir, head of Taghyeer bloc, Sardar Abdullah, and the head of the Kurdistani Islamic Union in the parliament, Najeeb Abdullah,” the statement added.

“Talabani indicated the intense efforts to calm down the tensions between the Central Government and the Kurdistani Regional Government, confirming the importance of dialogues, resorting to constitution and former agreement to settle the disputes,” the statement continued.

“He confirmed the significance of developing the relations between the KA and the three blocs to defend the constitution and to support the coexistence among the Iraqi communities,” the statement assured.

“The three leaders expressed their happiness for the success of Talabani’s initiative in stopping the media campaigns between the CG and Kurdistan RegionG, assuring their support for his effective efforts,” the statement concluded.
