Urgent – .Iran excludes Samarra Holy Shrines from pilgrims convoys programme

(IraqiNews.com) Iran announced excluding Samarra Holy Shrines from the programme of the Iranian visitors convoys due to the increase of the armed terrorist attacks that target the Iranian pilgrims in this city during the past few weeks.

Official Iranian news Agencies quoted the director assistant of the Iranian Hajj & Ummra Department as saying “The holy shrines in Samarra city have been excluded from the programme of the Iranian visitors convoys because of lack of security in those areas.”

“This visit will be suspended till providing security by the Iraqi security forces in Samarra,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that Samarra has witnessed an increase in the armed attacks against the Iranian pilgrims where the last of those attacks was an explosion of a car bomb on the Baghdad-Samarra road resulted in killing three Iranian visitors.
