Anbar demonstrations not peaceful, says former MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Former MP Amira al-Baldawi stressed that Anbar demonstrations are not peaceful but serious.

Baldawi cited that “These demonstrations are simply not peaceful where they disabled the people’s interests and damaged their business especially when those protestors cut the international road and turned it into protests square.”

She pointed out that “Mosul province has also announced civil disobedience three days ago where the official hours at government departments and schools in addition to the governorate and provincial council is suspended,” stressing that “It is unlawful to suspend the official hours which do not indicate that those demonstrations are peaceful.”

It is worth mentioning that the demonstrations and protests are still ongoing since a week in Anbar province as well as Salah il-Din and Nineveh cities, demanding the release of the detainees and cancelation of article No 4 of Iraq’s Anti-Terrorism law besides other demands.
