Peshmerga denies reports over its approval for all ICG’s proposals on running security in disputed areas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Peshmerga denied the reports over its approval for all the proposals of the security delegation of Baghdad concerning running the security file in the disputed areas.

The spokesperson of Peshmerga borders forces, Maj. Gen. Jabaar Yawar said that “The news that announced our approval for all proposals presented by Baghdad’s delegation over running the security in the disputed areas are groundless,” stressing “We pointed out, earlier, that we do reached consensus in some points but also there are controversial points in this respect, hence we decided to continue holding the mutual meetings till reaching joint mechanism in administrating the security file in the areas outside Kurdistan Region.”

Yawar added “Two security delegation representing Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Central Government have held on last Wednesday a meeting in Erbil where both of the two sides was scheduled to sign the final agreement, yet they decided to hold other meetings on 13th current January due to considerable pending points that need to be settled.”
