Sihail, Kobler discuss political developments in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Qusai al-Sihail, discussed with the head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Martin Kobler, the latest updates on the political arena and the UN efforts to relief Iraq from the UN sanctions stated in the UN Charter’s 7th Chapter.

A statement by Sihail’s media office cited that “Sihail discussed with Kobler the developments of the political process in Iraq and the role of the UN in releasing Iraq from the UN sanctions.”

The 1st Deputy Speaker emphasized, during the meeting, the necessity to resolve all the problems through dialogue and abandoning the tensed statements,” calling all the political sides to search for realistic and practical solutions in settling their disputes.”

“For his part, Kobler announced conducting a series of meetings with the Iraqi political blocs so as to find solutions for what is going on in the country and how to rescue the political process from risks,” the statement concluded.
