Iraq participates in Arab League’s urgent session in Cairo
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, labid Abawi headed Iraq’s delegation to participate in the urgent meeting of the Arab League council to discuss supporting the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordon and Iraq in light of the developments of the Syrian crisis and its repercussions on the neighboring countries.
A statement by the Ministry cited on Monday that “Abawi headed the Iraqi delegation to attend the Arab League’s urgent session that was held in Cairo on last Sunday. The meeting discussed the file of presenting aids to the Syrian refugees as well as discussing the Palestinian issue.”
“The Iraqi Government allocated $ 10 million for relief requirements for the Syrian refugees in a number of neighboring countries as well as those inside Syria,” he concluded.
