Committee of National Gathering holds meeting last Wednesday

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Committee formed during the National Gathering which was called for by the head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, held a meeting on last Wednesday.

A statement by Jaafary’s office received by IraqiNews.com “The Committee discussed the recommendations of the first gathering.”

Earlier, the Iraqi political sides held a joint meeting on last Tuesday to form a Joint Committee to follow up the files of the detainees and other demonstrators’ demands.

The Committee involves the head of INA, Jaafary, the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, the Deputy Head of INA, Khalid al-Atiya, the Secretary General of Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, and the member of the Kurdistani Alliance, Mihsin al-Sadoun.

The Iraqi political scene witnesses escalated crisis among the political blocs over issues related to the partnership and other key issues especially between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition in one hand in addition to the disputes between the Kurdistani Regional Government and Central Government on the other hand.

The crisis led to demonstrations conducted in a number of provinces calling for releasing the women detainees and the prisoners, canceling Justice and Accountability Law as well as Article 4 of Anti-Terrorism Law in addition to ensuring the balance and other demands.
