KA MP accuses Maliki, Shihristani of using oil file in political disputes

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Farhad al-Atrushi, of the Kurdistani Alliance assured the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and his Deputy, Hussein al-Shihristani, of using the oil file in the political disputes.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki and Shihristani are concerned with the oil policy and using it for the political disputes with Kurdistan Region where they hold the responsibility of forcing Kurdistan Region to adhere to other means regarding the national oil wealth.”

“The Federal Government decided to increase the disputes regarding the oil file under the excuse that Kurdistan Region is exporting the oil, but they want to pressurize Kurdistan Region to submit some political concessions where this will not happen because linking policy with economy is unacceptable issue,” he added.”

“The demands of Kurdistan Region regarding the budget and the oil were not taken into consideration by the government and the only solution is to endorse the Oil and Gas law draft,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Kurdistan Regional Government allowed the Turkish General Energy Company to start selling the oil to Turkey through Taq Taq oil field where the Federal Government considered it as “Illegal.”
