MP rules out vote on 2013 budget during Parliament Thursday session

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the parliamentary Economy & Investment Committee, Aziz Sharif al-Mayahi ruled out endorsing 2013 federal budget during the parliament’s regular session of Thursday due to the demands of the Kurdistani Alliance over adding the financial dues which is 4 trillion and 200 billion of the oil company operating in Kurdistan Region to the budget of the Region.

Mayahi said “All the political blocs are agreed on the importance of indorsing 2013 budget and its crucial role in running the state,” pointing out that “Although the concerning committees completed the main points of the budget, yet there are some political wills that aim to pass their demands within the federal budget.”

He confirmed “The need for political consensus to ensure achieving comfortable majority for the vote on the budget in all its items without any problems.”
