Security leaders withdraw from Sunni Endowment conference in Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A number of security leaders withdrew from a conference for the Sunni Endowment held to consider the demonstrators’ demands after being accused of sectarianism by clergymen.

IraqiNews.com correspondent reported on Thursday “The Sunni Endowment Department in Anbar held conference to discuss the demands of the protesters in presence of security leaders and head of the Sahwa councils in Iraq, Ahmed Abu Risha as well as tribal figures within the province.”

While holding the meeting, the clergymen accused the army commanders of sectarianism, thus promoted Anbar Operations Commander, Maj. Gen. Murdhi al-Mihilawi, the commander of the ground forces, Maj, Gen. Ali Ghaidan, and Anbar police commander, Hadi Rizaij to leave the conference.”
