MP describes calls to increase Budget as "Economic suicide"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hadi al-Yasiri, of the State of Law Coalition described the calls of some political blocs to increase the General Budget as “An economic suicide.”

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The deficit ratio of the current Budget reaches to 19% and it was specified according to estimating the price of the oil barrel as 90 USD and the number of the oil exports as 2, 9 Million oil barrels daily, but Iraq is currently exporting 2, 4 Million barrels daily and the price of the oil barrel is unfixed due to the regional security situation and the international economic depression.”

“The calls of some sides to increase the Budget are irresponsible and as an economic suicide that will result in affecting the economic future of Iraq and increase the economic inflation,” he added.

He stressed the necessity of “Adhering to the national interest rather than the personal one,” warning from “The insistence of delaying the endorsement of the Budget because it will result in losing the positive results gained by its early endorsement.”
