USAID celebrates its fifth anniversary in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US Agency of International Development announced granting loans with gross value reached USD one billion to different projects in Iraq.The US Embassy in Baghdad reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com on Monday ”The US Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Beecroft, and the Deputy Chairman of the US mission of international development, David Harden , celebrated the fifth anniversary of establishing the economic development program in Iraqi provinces, which is known as the Trade program, of USD (192) billion.””The program offered the assistance for 12 institutions specialized in funding projects through increasing the value of loans granted to people and providing (220,000) job opportunities,” the statement added.’The Trade program also trained about (8,300) Iraqis to run projects and select suitable locations for them,” the statement pointed out.The statement quoted the US Ambassador, Stephen Beecroft, as saying that ”The Trade program aims at helping Iraqis to get the financial services since we believe that every Iraqi should get the opportunity to start a commercial business to achieve his goals and build the future for his children.” \
