Barzani, Swedish delegation discuss bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, stressed the necessity of promoting the political and economic relations between the Region and Sweden.

A statement by the Kurdistan Region Presidency cited on Thursday “Barzani received on Thursday, the chief of the Political Affairs Office at the Swedish Foreign Ministry, Pune Larval, and the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Aorquen Lindstrom.”

“Larval praised the good relations between Kurdistan Region and Sweden where he delivered his country’s appreciation to the effective role of the Kurdish community in the Swedish society,” the statement added.

“The economic cooperation between both sides is going well,” he added hoping to develop these relations to “cover larger domains.”

For his part, Barzani, expressed his gratitude and gratefulness for the Swedish support to the Kurdish people during the days of hardship and oppression, highlighting the need to “upgrade the political and economic relations between both parties.”
