Sinjari denies resignation from Parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Faris al-Sanjari of the Iraqiya Slate denied reports over submitting his resignation from the Parliament.

In a statement to the Iraqi News IraqiNews.com, he said “Submitting my resignation dependes on approving the resignation of the Agriculture Minister Izz-il-Din al-Doula because I am his replacement in the parliament in order to allow him return to the Parliament as a member of the Council.”

“The Council of the Ministers did not approve the resignation of the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture yet,” he added.

Earlier, media reports have mentioned that “The Iraqiya Slate’s MP Faris al-Sanjari has submitted his resignation from the Parliament due to the violent events that took place in Nineveh Province on last Friday.”
