IPs killed, injured in Tikrit

Salah il-Din (IraqiNews.com) A number of Iraqi policemen were killed, injured on Tuesday due to an armed attack on their checkpoint, southern Salah il-Din province.

Security source told Iraqi News “Gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in Balad district to the south of Tikrit, capital of Salah il-Din, by opening fire that killed one policemen and injured three others.”

“The gunmen fled to unknown destination after launching the attack while a police force transported the dead body of the victim to the morgue and the wounded to a hospital for treatment,” the source added.
