Kurdistan Region has no right to deal with oil away from constitution, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Salam al-Maliki, pointed out “The Iraqi oil belongs to all Iraqis and Kurdistan does not have a right to deal with it away from the constitution.”

He stated to IraqiNews.com “The Iraqi Government is aware of the Iraqis’ interests and deal with all Iraqis without discrimination.”

“Exporting oil is a constitutional exclusive right for the Federal Ministry of Oil and its revenues are to be brought to the budget of the State to be distributed later among the Iraqi provinces equally,” he added.

“Taking the revenues by Kurdistan Region must be confronted by taking these revenues from Kurdistan Region’s share from the Budget which is 17%,” he concluded.
