Kurdish MP rules out withdrawal of Kurdish ministers from government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hafal Kwistani, of the Kurdish Change bloc ruled out the withdrawal of the Kurdish ministers from the government over not paying the fees of the oil companies working in Kurdistan Region.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I do not think that the Kurdish ministers will withdraw from the government because this issue will encourage the ministers of the Iraqiya Slate to withdraw its ministers as well where the political process will be collapsed and this will not happen.”

“The problem between Kurdistan Region and the Central Government is related to the fees of the oil companies working in Kurdistan Region where no all the sides in Kurdistan Region are interested in this issue. So, I do not think that the Kurdish ministers will withdraw from the government,” he added, noting that “The withdrawal of the Kurdish ministers depends on some essential issues that are important to all the Kurdish constituents such as the Article 140 of the constitution.”

“If the government decides to cancel Article 140, all the Kurdish ministers will withdraw from the government because it is an important issue to all the Kurds,” he pointed out.

“The way that the government is dealing with the oil companies in Kurdistan Region has a political side more than the financial one, but there is a way to conduct a deal over this issue,” he concluded.
