IHEC to discuss request of Anbar PC to postpone next elections in Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission announced that it will discuss the request of Anbar Provincial Council to postpone holding the elections in Anbar province on Sunday.

The head of the IHEC stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Saturday “The Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss the request of Anbar Provincial Council, which was submitted to the IHEC on last Thursday, to postpone holding the elections in Anbar province.”

“The result of the meeting will be announced by the media outlets,” he concluded.

Earlier, Anbar PC requested the IHEC to postpone holding the local elections, which are supposed to be held in Iraq on the 20th of April 2013, in Anbar province due to the security situation.
