US embassy participates in 25th anniversary of Halabcha bombing in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US embassy in Iraq participated in the 25th anniversary of bombing Halabcha city in Iraq by the chemical weapons during the former regime.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, the US embassy assured “Supporting Iraq and the Iraqi government to have a brightened future for the next generations in Iraq and making it impossible to have another Halabcha.”

“We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of bombing Halabcha city in Kurdistan Region by the chemical weapons by the former President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, which resulted in killing five thousand innocent citizens in less than 20 minutes in addition to injuring 10 thousand others.”

“The US embassy condoles the families of the victims and condemned this crime where it wishes to take lessons from Halabcha massacre,” the statement added.

“The USA started its efforts in order not to have another Halabcha and ensuring the rights of the human beings in all the world in addition to punish the criminals who targeted their peoples,” the statement pointed out.

“We will keep our support to the Iraqi people and government to have a brightened future for the generations of Iraq,” the statement concluded.
