Timimi calls to dismiss Basra Police Commander

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mansour al-Timimi of the State of Law Coalition called to dismiss Basra Police Commander on background of the bombings that took place in the province on Sunday.

Timimi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday “We have requested more than once to change the security forces in Basra especially Basra Police Commander, but unfortunately, there was no response.”

He attributed the security breaches to “The weakness of the intelligence efforts, the lack of the proactive strikes and planning, besides the security leaders’ negligence where Basra Police Commander was not replaced despite the repeated security breaches in the province.”
