Urgent – Civilians killed, injured in central Basra

Basra (IraqiNews.com) A number of civilians were killed and injured when a car bomb went off in central Basra province.

A security source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “A car bomb exploded near the Social Security Directorate in central Basra, resulting in killing and injuring a number of citizens.”

“The police seized the explosion scene and the ambulances transferred the injured citizens to the nearby hospital for treatment,” the source added, noting that “The number of the causalities is not determined yet.”

It is worth mentioning that this is the second explosion in Basra province on Sunday where the first one was also caused by a car bomb in a garage in Karmat Ali area of northern Basra which resulted in killing and injuring a number of citizens.
