IED goes off in Abu Gharib district

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Two police elements were killed and wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded to the west of Baghdad.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com “The IED explosion was targeting a police patrol in Abu Gharib area (25 KM) to the west of Baghdad,” noting that “The explosion resulted in killing a police officer, with Lieutenant rank, and injuring another policeman within the patrol.”

“The vehicle of the police patrol was burned due to the IED explosion,” the source added.

“The police cordoned off the explosion site and transferred the dead bodies to the morgue and the injured policeman to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded
