Some politicians attempt to create tension between Iraq, Kuwait

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Sami al-Askari, member of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee confirmed that some politicians attempt to create tension between Iraq and Kuwait.

Speaking to IraqiNews.com, he said “Some politicians launch statements for electoral or political aims but such statements negatively affect the relations between the two countries,” noting that “Consequently; the Kuwaiti stance towards relieving Iraq from the 7th Chapter will be affected.”

“Three pending files are left for relieving Iraq from the 7th Chapter, they are related to the Kuwaiti Archive looted by the forces of the former regime, the lost and captives” file and the border issues,” he mentioned.

“The first two files are to be settled through the cooperation between the two countries away from the 7th Chapter but the debated issue is the demarcation of the land and sea borders,” he assured.

“Mubarak port will be involved in the case of demarcating the sea borders,” he concluded.
