Urgent – Iraqi Cabinet postpones local elections in Anbar, Nineveh to prevent terrorists from winning posts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Council of Ministers announced that the decision of postponing the next local elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces came to prevent the terrorists from ascending posts at the local councils as members or governors.

A statement by the CoM reported on Tuesday “The General Commander of the Armed Forces, the PM Nouri al-Maliki decided to postpone the provincial elections for six months in Anbar and Nineveh due to the unstable security situation in these two provinces and to prevent the terrorists from wining posts as local officials and governors.”
