4 IAs killed, injured in Tikrit

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) Four elements of the Iraqi Army were killed and wounded due to an Improvised Explosive Device explosion in southern Tikrit city.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com on Thursday “The IED, which was emplaced on a roadside in Yathrib area within Balad district of southern Tikrit city, exploded targeting a police patrol,” noting that “The explosion resulted in killing three police elements, one of them was an officer with a Captain rank, and wounding an Iraqi Army soldier as it caused material damages to the vehicle of the police patrol.”

“The security force cordoned the explosion scene off transporting the dead bodies to the morgue and the wounded policemen to the nearest hospital for treatment,” the source added.

“The security force launched a raid-search campaign and arrested eight suspects on the background of the explosion,” the source pointed out. \
